It was Ernest’s own experience with bullying that made Hickman’s comments hit a nerve, he said. He described moving to a new school and being ridiculed as a pre-teen. As he grew older, he eventually escaped the bullying and channeled his energy into sports and the martial arts (he and his wife own Ramtown Karate in town), but he never forgot his experience.

I support enhancement of our parks and recreation areas. I recognize the need to address Dixon’s transportation and water utility challenges. I actively support the development of a vibrant downtown, while respecting Dixon’s old town atmosphere.
